Expoagro 2026 officially opened its doors this Tuesday with the traditional ribbon-cutting ceremony, which was attended by sector leaders, former President Mauricio Macri, and the governor of Santa Fe, Maximiliano Pullaro, among others. The provincial governor spoke to the press and the Argentine News Agency, expressing his concern over the country's microeconomic context. "We feel that there are problems. It is not a simple time to govern in Argentina," he noted. And at the end, he hinted: "Perhaps other provinces have fewer problems." The main representatives of the Agricultural Liaison Table were also present at the event's opening ceremony, which will extend until next Friday. The outstanding points on Tuesday's agenda include the announcement of credits for the livestock sector, which will be presented by Sergio Iraeta, Secretary of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of the Nation, and Maximiliano Voss, President of BICE. Additionally, at 4 p.m., a meeting between Iraeta and the Liaison Table representatives will take place, where it is expected that the issue of retentions will be discussed again. In this edition, Expoagro celebrates its 20th anniversary and has reached a new record, with all spaces reserved in advance, more than 700 exhibitors, and 100 more companies than last year. "Many sectors are not making it to the end of the month, they don't have enough money," he indicated. He also warned about the critical situation facing industries and asked that "they be protected": "We see a lot of concern." "Losing a SME does not mean losing a number, but rather years of investment and work." In turn, he showed his support for the countryside and assured that the sector "reinvests each of the resources it earns and wants to produce more." Although he was not on the list of leaders invited by President Javier Milei, the Santa Fe governor explained why he was not present at the "Argentina Week" and reaffirmed his commitment to the provincial agenda. "We have many problems."
